Finally The Sens Can Exhale!

As the off-season progressed the more and more the Ottawa Senators were in a huge and embarrassing situation with Danny Heatley in the middle of it. What Heatley did, will likley haunt him in the future. But on Saturday he got what he wished, a trade out of Ottawa to a Stanley Cup contender, the San Jose Sharks. I personally think that Ottawa got a better deal here, only because they get rid of Mr.Heatley and in return get a 50 plus goal scorer. But, I can only think what Jonathan Cheechoo must be thinking. Will the Senators make the playoffs? I strongly think so, because they did have an excellent off-season, besides the like show put on by Heatley. What didnt surprise me was that at the Senators training camp the players weren"t even sad or emotional about Heatley's departure. If im Heatley right now, I would hope that my target from Ottawa wont follow me to San Jose and that he had better have a great season.

Is Phil Kessel going to the Maple Leafs?

Now, in tis years draft we say an offer between the Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins that included Phil Kessel and Tomas Kaberle. It didnt happen. Is this a thing for the Leafs to do? I sure think so because Brian Burke already signed a big defenseman this off-season from rival montreal so why not give up one of your great stars like the Bruins did with Joe Thornton a couple of years and bring in bigger and better things. Imean look at the Bruins now their contenders from a couple of years ago they were'nt even able to make the playoffs. Coud the leafs makethe post-season this year i dont think so, it will take them at least one more year. Now, if your Burke right now I would trade Kaberle and prey forthe best with Kessel.

Luongo Getting Closer and Closer To Re-Signing

As you may have heard. Roberto Luongo the star netminder for the Vancouver Canucks has only one more year left on his current four-year, U.S $27-million deal. He also told the Canucks that he want a deal to be made by the start of their trainning camp, witch is scheduled for september 12th. Today, a Canuck official told the Canadian Press that "Negotiations are on-going and we are confident we will reach an agreement before training camp". So, as you can see looks like Luongo will stay with the Canucks. For how long and for how much I dont no but, i will assure you that it will be big bucks for the hearth and soul and the Vancouver Canucks.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? Sundin Asks.

He is considered to be on the list of great Maple Leafs of all-time, but for now Mats, is at his wedding in Stockholm, Sweden. As he is expeted to say "I do", his agent J.P Barry says that it wont be a long time after before he says "I do" or "I dont", to extending his NHL career for one more season. Now, personally I hope he wont pull another stunt like he did last year. Aldo he is a great hockey player, if I were in his position I would hurry up and decide what to do. Sundin still has one more year on his contract with the Canucks, but if he doesnt go back, and call it quits, he had better kiss his olympic spot in Vancouver. So, as you can see Sundin has a very hard choice to make, stay for one more or hang up the skates for good.

What Is Wrong With You, Heatley?

What is going threw Danny Heatley's mind right now? Sign with the Senators, whom witch could make the playoffs and maybe by a long shot make it far in a tough and very competitive Eastern Conference or test the free agent market and hope that their's a team out their that may take someone like him, who has not only embarassed is team but his name. Look all over the Ottawa region sports stores, and you will find all the Heatley jerseys are either 50% percent off or are being given away for a dime. So far the only team that has had interest in Heatley was the Edmonton Oilers. Now, I wouldnt even think about Heatley let alone try and put him on your team because of what he has done. Has he ruined his career? Possiblilly. What he has to do is sign back with Ottawa and go from their. To go back to the Team Canada Orientational camp in Calgary last week, he was being yealed at and being bood by the fans, but he showed me something that I never did see him do and that was work threw it all and not pull a Carey Price or something like that on the fans. Nevertheless, what he does is still a guessing game for everyone and the longer he waits the more teams will lose interest.

Why Leave Kovalev?

Now if your a Canadiens fan you must be wondering why Kovalev left the Montreal Canadiens. Is it because of their lack of winning and getting past the first and second round of the playoffs, or did Kovalev fell a little to much pressure of being the star of the Canadiens? Personally I dont no what to think. I also want to add that it was a very stupid move from Kovalev to say that he would want to comeback to Montreal after 2 years and hopeflly retire their. I mean if your Bryan Murray you must be going crazy that he would say something like that. All in all he is under an amazing amount of pressure to try and carry the Senators to a playoff spot that they failed to do last year. What he will do, and will he fail or will he become a great star for Ottawa, will only be told with time.

Is the desert battle ever going to end?

So as all hockey fans must know and have heard, Jim Balsillie has offered to buy the Pheonix Coyotes and move them to the Hamilton area. But as of today the NHL says that without a new lease, the Coyotes wont move from Pheonix. Now it's been a long and hard process for Blackberry owner Jim Balsillie and i mean people are saying that it's getting old. Now what is going to be Balsillie's next move, offer a 20 year lease? Whatever he does it just doesnt seem to get past the NHL or the bankruptcy court. Presentely their on step 11 with the court. In all of the mess and total embarrassment of Jim Balsillie if the NHL does win the case they will quickly engage in talks for a new lease with the city of Glendale for the Coyotes. So, all that I can say is that this will never end because he (Balsillie) will never quit until theirs a 7th team in Canada.
